Recipes for a sick dog have to be mild and easy on the stomach and organs.

Don't feed your dog red meat or anything acidic.

Dogs get sick.  There is no way around it.  At some point you will have a health issue.  Thank goodness there is lots of advice for dog owners.
I had a very sick dog in his later years.  Usually this is the case.  Your young dog hasn't had many problems but as your dog becomes older, problems crop up.

My recipes on this page is for a sick dog who has stomach issues.  In Spooky's case, he could not keep kibble in his stomach.  He kept vomiting his food.

Finally after talking to my vet I created and tried out these recipes for a dog that is under the weather.  I hope they will help your dog.

Recipes for a sick dog

#1

  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 hard boiled eggs, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cottage cheese

# 2

  • 3 scrambled eggs
  • 1/4 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked rice

Recipe for very ill dog

  • Make a little instant cream of rice cereal for babies and see if your dog will eat that.  When a puppy is weaned, this is the first solid food he will eat.
